Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

LanguagePath is a free language-learning web app. This page explains, plainly, what happens to your data.

The short version

LanguagePath has no accounts, no sign-up, and no server that stores your personal information. Your lesson progress lives only in your own browser. The only outside party involved is Google, which may show ads on this site.

What we store, and where

Everything LanguagePath needs to remember about you — which lessons you've finished, your streak, your saved phrases, your optional name and the languages you already speak — is saved using your browser's local storage, on your own device. It is never uploaded to a server we run, because we don't run one. Clearing your browser data or using "Export progress" / "Import progress" (in the Hub tab) is the only way this data moves anywhere.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

This site shows ads served by Google AdSense. To do that, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar identifiers on your device to:

You can see and control the data Google uses for ad personalization at Google's Ad Settings, and you can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites — see how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Analytics

LanguagePath can optionally use Cloudflare Web Analytics — a cookie-free, privacy-first analytics service that does not track individuals across sites. At the time of writing this is not yet turned on for this site; if it's enabled in the future, it will only ever report anonymous, aggregate traffic counts (e.g. how many people opened a lesson), never anything tied to you personally.

Microphone & speech

Some drills offer an optional "say it and check" feature using your browser's built-in speech recognition. This audio is processed by your browser/device (or its manufacturer's speech service, e.g. Chrome uses Google's) to produce text — LanguagePath never records, stores, or transmits your voice itself. This feature only activates when you tap the microphone button, and only your browser decides how that audio is handled.

Children's privacy

LanguagePath does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age — see above: there is no account system and nothing is sent to a server we control. If you're a parent with concerns about ads shown to a younger learner, browser-level content controls or an ad blocker are the most direct fix, since ad personalization is entirely Google's system, not ours.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will change too. We don't send notifications for this, since we don't have any way to contact you (no accounts, remember?).
